ASportsManager was founded in 2008 in Montreal, Canada by experienced officials, assignors, and schedulers who were frustrated with the tools available at the time. Existing scheduling systems were clunky, outdated, and disconnected from the realities of managing game assignments. So they built their own, a platform designed from the ground up by people who actually live the job.
We're not outsiders building software for a market. We're part of the officiating community. We understand the pressure of last-minute schedule changes, the complexity of fair assignments across multiple leagues, and the need for clear, instant communication between assignors and officials. That lived experience shapes every feature we build.
The first version of ASportsManager was released in 2008, built to serve the local baseball association of the platform's founders. As word spread to neighbouring associations and other sports, demand grew quickly. In 2014, Version 2 was released, redesigned to support any association, organization, or sport.
In 2023, ASportsManager was acquired by new ownership committed to a complete modernization of the platform. The new operator isn't just an investor. He's a national-level umpire and supervisor who has been using ASportsManager since its very first year, with leadership experience at every level of the game, from local associations to regional and provincial organizations. That deep, firsthand understanding of what officials and assignors actually need drives every decision we make today.
In 2026, after three years of development, we released Version 3 of ASportsManager. This wasn't an update or a refresh. It was a complete rebuild using modern technology, delivering a faster, more reliable platform that works seamlessly across every device. Whether you're an assignor managing hundreds of officials or a referee checking your next game, the experience is intuitive, responsive, and simple.
While other platforms focus their efforts on relationships with provincial and national federations, ASportsManager takes a different approach. We're organization-agnostic, meaning we work with any group at any level, and we believe every organization should have full control over their own business rules. Whether you're a small local association with a handful of officials or a large regional body managing hundreds, you get the same powerful tools and the freedom to run things your way. We believe every organization, no matter the size, deserves access to professional scheduling tools that make their job easier.
Join the officiating organizations across North America that trust ASportsManager to manage their leagues, assign their officials, and keep their seasons running smoothly.
